Fundraising & Social Media Workshops, Resident Goodnik Spots, Survey Results, Reboot Partner Event, Etc

Hey there, Goodnik;

Here are just a few things going on at that I thought you should know about;

The survey results are in, and the membership has spoken; it seems that many of you are interested in learning about marketing and fundraising as the most important topics to cover, with a special emphasis on "101" level workshops so the next event that we're hosting is a two-part workshop specifically about how to use crowdfunding and social media marketing to raise money for your organization. In this workshop we will work with a small number of "test case" organizations and walkthrough the steps on how to create and market a successful campaign. We will have speakers to explain how to use crowdfunding platforms for social causes, an expert in storytelling, a videographer, and a social media marketing expert.

The projected dates for this event are the 15th and 22nd of May, so save the date. More details to come.

We are also working on several other related workshops, including one on using auction fundraising tools, and a "One Night, One Campaign" marketing workshop. If you have ideas for other workshops, please don't hesitate to let us know by shooting an email to [address removed].

The Goodnik in Residence program provides social entrepreneurs with membership in coworking spaces around New York and right now we've got more openings for Resident Goodniks than ever before:

  • Sunshine Suites is looking for a social entrepreneur working on poverty/youth issues.
  • Projective Space is supporting two goodniks who are using consumer-facing technology to fix social problems.
  • Products of Design at the School of Visual Arts has an opening for a social entrepreneur for the summer who is working on a product that will have a tangible positive impact.

To learn more and apply for any of these programs, visit the program overview page.

Reboot Workshop is a day-long, unconference built in a hybrid format for startups, social entrepreneurs, freelancers and business owners (and those aspiring to be) who face these unique challenges every day.

See ignite-style presentations in areas like accounting, marketing, bookkeeping, law, non-profits, social enterprise, technology. Work with experts in camp-style breakout sessions. Network with those in your field as well as those in complementing fields. Be a mentor and inspiration for others.

This event is normally $75 for the day-long conference (which includes refreshments and lunch). Goodnik members get a 25% discount by entering the code 428GOODN at the registration page.
