Happy Spring, goodnik community!
Just a friendly reminder about tomorrow's event, we have Patrick O'Neill, Founder of YouGiveGoods, lined up for our first speaker + drinks event. Unlike Goodnik's usual workshops, tomorrow will be a more casual event combining remarks from Patrick, a notable social entrepreneur, mixed with drinks and networking.
YouGiveGoods goal is to simplify the process of giving so that more good gets done. The company has developed a unique technology platform that combines social media and e-commerce to connect people who want to give real goods to those who need them - at food pantries, animal shelters or homeless shelters. The company's platform makes it easy to start a charity drive or to contribute to a drive to support these kinds of organizations.
RSVP for the event at the Goodnik meetup page and we'll see you tomorrow!
***One more thing - New York Tech Day is coming up in April 25th, and Goodnik is working with the organizers to include a section just for social entrepreneurs and civic changemakers. If you run a tech-related organization and you'd like to display your work to thousands of press, investors, and members of the public you can register to be in the "Social Impact Section" at https://nytechday.com/goodnik If you can't afford the $385 discounted rate, subsidies are available - just apply at http://www.goodnik.org/social-impact-expo/. If you'd like to sponsor the Social Impact Section, firstname.lastname@example.org.
