A couple of quick things; first, just a reminder that tonight's meetup
about increasing non-profit membership using social media is on and it's going to be very interesting. Trevor Sumner, head of marketing for WePlay.com (a youth sports oriented social network) will share some of his techniques for increasing membership and help translate that into useful advice for non-profit organizations. The presentation will be followed by questions/discussion and networking. Looking forward to seeing you at Merc Bar, 151 Mercer Street, tonight at 6:30pm.
Second, I wanted to let you all know that I'll be at Web 2.0 Expo today
working the Meetup.com booth - if you're coming to the expo, feel free to stop by. I'll only be there this afternoon, but the folks from Meetup.com will be there all day today and tomorrow.
Finally, another event that I'm helping to coordinate is now open for registration; the Organizing 2.0 Conference
will be held on December 5th
at the CUNY Murphy Center for Worker Education. Tickets are $10 and it looks like it's shaping up to be a great event. Many organizations are involved, including the Working Families Party, SEIU, Citizen Action, Manhattan Young Democrats, Freelancers Union, Domestic Workers United, and many more. The focus will be online organizing for community and labor movements. If you currently work in that field, you're welcome to attend. Check out http://www.organizing20.org
