Indie games, thematic board games, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 3rd edition (my current game of choice which I've been demo'ing at Go4Games in Metairie). I like games that utilize a really clever or interesting mechanic to really make the theme work ("Don't Rest Your ahead" is an excellent example of this).
Fiasco, Mansions of Madness
Both. I mainly GM, which is fine for me. I find playing can be really frustrating at times. I always want the game to really meet the players wishes. I want to feel like I can shape and mold the world in some small way, or that the adventure will really embrace my character. Unfortunately, I mostly get met with adversarial GMs who have decided to stand guard over all of the fun and choose to mete it out in very small portions. I love improvisational GMing that really empowers the players to be as awesome as they can be. I also hate letting the rules limit imagination and fun.
My name is Steve. I'm from Boston, and New York before that. I'm trying to meet up with gamers so that I can make friends and have fun.
