Introduction to core.typed

  • Oct 16, 2013 · 6:00 PM
  • HiQ

Let's have a look at another mind blowing library: core.typed, that brings a gradient type system to Clojure (and soon ClojureScript)!

Lots of interesting stuff in there, let's try to type-annotate all the things!

Also, the floor is open to anyone interested in presenting something as usual.

IMPORTANT: This meetup will be held at the HiQ headquarters, not at PugglePay's! I know, we're breaking a long streak of hosted meetups, but change is good! :)

It was the best meetup I have ever been to.

Thanks to all of you for coming! I hope the meetup was a good mix of beginner/advanced topics.

Here is a bunch of links:

    The group's twitter account: @Gotclj
The github repo of tonight's code: https://github.com/got-clj/fun-with-types
    our mailing list: http://www.meetup.com/got-clj/messages/boards/

compilation of resources to get started: http://www.meetup.com/got-clj/messages/boards/thread/26169252

If you are interested in another beginner / introduction meetup, we can organise another one and have a better overview of the language. We did not mention any of the concurrent features of the language, records, polymorphism etc... So there's plenty of room for that. Patrik, me or some other more experienced user will always be available to host a beginner's session, so please do ask!

Anyone can suggest a meetup, so do not hesitate! Cheers!

It is probably for another meetup entirely but it could be nice to contrast core.typed with "schema" by the Prismatic team https://github.com/prismatic/schema

Update! NEW LOCATION! PugglePay has been hosting our clojure meetups for more than a year now, so it's time to try something new :)

HiQ offers to host the meetup this time (including food and drinks), so that will be the occasion for some change of scenery.

Can you leave a comment here if you have some special food preferences? (vegetarian/vegan/lactose free/gluten free)

    Cheerios!
