Karen Boat Prep

Hi all,

I have always said that the best way to be invited sailing is to help the owner prep the boat.  I am prepping the boat and would love some help.  On April 21 we will be sanding and varnishing.  Please wear old clothes :-).

Preference is given to those who have been to a boat prep before. Please sign up only if you are sure that you can make it.  Please make sure that your 2013 membership dues are paid before signing up.

Please do not wear black soles!

Good luck at your Boat Prep MeetUp . . . I conducted my "B3" (Boat Buffin' Barbecue), last month, splashed Easter weekend, and have had one 4 day cruise to The Tides Inn already . . . The best thing for volunteers is that they get to really know the boat, inside and out, and where all the STUFF is onboard so they can serve as more knowledgable and helpful crew. These will be the folks who will always be invited and welcomed back . . . Unfortunately, many still feel it's a free charter, but in time, the solid sailors will surface. Be encouraged and be on the water soon! Lots of food, beverages, and crank favorite tunes . . . enjoy your real friends! Good luck with your new boat, Karen!

David, so good to hear from you. I have had some really amazing crew help--one really dedicated one :-). With all of the damages from Sandy, it will take a village to get her ready.

Oh Karen, you're an inspiration to me, (and likely many others) who can not only feel a good boat crying out to be resurrected, regardless of the "project boat" designation, no matter how "rough" it may seem at first. In time (and likely lots of $weat) she will return to you all your TLC for many years with even more pricelss memories. When done, I look fwd to your Eastern Seaboad cruise and sailng alongside her when in the Lower Chesapeake! Looking fwd to the continued progress reports and updates on your "findings" and the lessons she'll teach you. Have a great B3 day!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
