Looking to sail often. Currently sailing & racing dinghies in Jamaica Bay or J24's out of North Cove. Am proud to have participated in a " Free Youth Sailing " program for NYC kids while a volunteer for " The Downtown Boathouse " on Pier #26.
I raced aboard International One Design #87 ( then named " Cloud Nine " ) in San Francisco Bay for 3 seasons in the 60's. And summers sailing Blue Jays and crewing aboard sloops & yawls out of Norwalk Yacht Club. Spend 3 years Crewed on 30' sloops in San Diego & Vancouver while enlisted in US Navy as Yeoman/Photographer aboard the USS Jouett, DLG29. In the 1980's I made several cruises in the waters off MA aboard the 41' Concordia Ketch #88 " Renaisance " ( now named " Luna "). Recently I have volunteer skippered J24's while on " Sail Patrol " on the Hudson River with Manhattan Sailing Club members as crew. And crewed aboard the clubs 12 meter " America II ". Most recently I've been sailing my new 13' 6" Marconi rigged Melon Seed Skiff on Jamaica Bay. And racing club Sunfish at Sebago Canoe Club in Carnarsie, Brooklyn, NY where they have a great dinghy sailing, cruising and racing program. I welcome offers to skipper or crew in local waters. See you on the water !

I own a 13' 6" wooden Melon Seed Skiff built by Phil Maynard. The boat is modeled after the New Jersey Melon Seed Skiff. A gunning boat that was popular with men who made their living bird hunting on Barnegat Bay, NJ in 1880's. This version of Melon Seed has a Marconi rig instead of the original sprit rig. It's Moorehouse mainsail has two reef points. The boat also rows well. The centerboard pivots. Two people are comfortable daysailing. This boat sits on a launching dolly at Sebago Canoe Club located on Paerdegat Basin in Carnarsie, Brooklyn, NY. The dolly allows for the un-assisted launch and retrieval of the boat from the dock to the water.
I am eager to crew. I have sloop rigged keel boat experience as skipper, crew and working the foredeck. I keep up to date with the Racing Rules of Sailing thru 2012.
I have racing experience aboard IOD #87 in San Francisco Bay in the 1960's. I am currently racing sunfish dinghies at Sebago Canoe Club. I am interested in crewing, match racing and regettas.
Always good to attend a well organized and attended gathering. Thanks for
