The presenters simply dismissed proposed discussions that did not fit their perspective. Interesting topic none the less.

It may be worth setting up some kind of sidebar or a BoF to give people an opportunity to address side topics like this.

To add my two-cents, I'm glad the presenter tried to move on from this discussion (especially after the same person asked the same GUI question twice), it seemed to just be derailing the presentation and becoming argumentative. I don't know if these people are part of this thread, but I would assume that the presenter was "short" with the questioner because he was part of a group of gentlemen at the back of the room who were having their own conversations and ignoring a chunk of the presentation. (I ended up moving away from them to avoid the distraction)

This being said, I don't think anything negative enough to warrant complaint occurred... on either side. Great Meetup. Great presentations. Looking forward to the next one.

For the record or "two cents" as you like to put it - I was the person who asked the follow up question so in effect the same person did *not* ask the same question twice. I was *not* drunk nor was I at the back of the room. I was simply trying to get the presenter's thoughts if someone was to take up their challenge and actually contribute to the open source project on the UI front.

At any rate, I think the finger pointing is done - lets move on. I look forward to a BOF...

IIRC My company was the sponsor of the very first NYCSASS meetup, 1 year ago! Can't stay long, but just dropped in to say Happy Anniversary!
