Calling all spinnaker experts!

I have a Santana 22 which I keep in Berkeley.  I'm planning on learning how to fly the symmetrical spinnaker for both racing and cruising.

A friend and I are going sailing on Sunday and plan to do some spinnaker practice - haul ups, take downs, gybes, work different positions, etc.  We're both experienced "white sail" sailors but have minimal spinnaker experience.

I'm looking for a third crew to join us who has symmetrical spinnaker experience and would like to coach us. And I'm needing crew for the Vallejo Race with its long spinnaker run!

The wind is forecast to be around 12 knots on Sunday which is ideal.  If its stronger then we'll stay in the lee of Angel Island.

We'll also do some cruising around and probably stop at Angel Island at some point.

If you're interested sign up for the wait list and I'll contact you.

Hi Jeremy, I'm very glad to see you active in the group again. Like everyone else, I'd be glad to participate . . . but :-) I'm working that day :-(

I'm familiar with all aspects of spinnaker work, having done bow, mast, pit, and trim at various times (though usually not all at once), but I've got a commitment Sunday until 12:30 PM. Since Berkeley is on the way back for me, if you're around the dock at 1 PM, I can stop by and talk through the maneuvers with you if you like.

I skipper Huck Finn, a Bear. We spinnaker. Need foredeck for Master Mariners and other races. Master Mariners Race, Saturday before Memorial Day, is the most awesome race on the planet. Since your Santana is not elgible- interested? Other people who signed up here- if interested, please contact me.

I’d love to help, but am crewing on the 3rd. Maybe some other time? I’ve done bow on-and-off since the ‘80’s

Hi, I'm not an expert. But, I've been practicing spinnaker on an Express 27 and an Olson 30. If I can help, let me know. My schedule is generally very flexible. THough this coming weekend I am commited to helping a non-profit in Alameda on both Sat, and Sun. And, actually have commited to some work in Palo Alto in March. But, there is always time for more sailing.
    Good luck. :-)

Oh, if you want to come to the party this Sunday at Alameda Yacht Club. Maybe there will be some spinnaker experts there. Don't know.
