On the Catalina I'm Captain Jan.
Started out on a rowboat, then moved to crewing on small dinghies for my dad, then Laser, crewing and eventually helming Shark 24 (all this East coast). Since going West in 1990, have owned a Columbia Challenger (24), then a Santana 22 (YRA champion 2007 or so; twice third in Nationals). March 2009 bought a 1989 Catalina 42 which we took on the Delta Doo-Dah and then cruised to Mexico for 9 months (wife, two teenage sons and myself; occasional extra crew for passages).
Carlos is a racing Santana 22. We've taken her to the Delta and Lake Tahoe for a week at a time, but with the Catalina I suspect she'll stay closer to home now. Neener3 (that's Neener Neener Neener to you, Richard) is a Catalina 42 Mark I with all the cruising paraphernalia - watermaker, solar panels, dodger/bimini, radar, AIS, hard-bottom dinghy.
No, but I was a member of the Canadian National Sailing Team as crew in[masked] (in the Shark class, at Shark Worlds in Sweden and West Germany)
Experienced racer on small keelboats (own a Santana 22), and now also owner of a Catalina 42 which our family took to Mexico on 2010 HaHa, returning July 2011. Crew, anyone?
