How would you describe your sailing experience? At the end of your description include a title for yourself (look at other profiles, or the about page for ideas)

Grew up sailing in Great Lakes (Huron) and owned O'Day sailboat in Madison, WI (Lake Mendota) for 15 years. I have been sailing with a friend monthly out of Point Richmond Yacht Club. Never raced before but would like to try a fun race such as a beercan. I love being on the water and feel fulfilled and content when I am rushing through water and working with the wind as it changes.

What type boats have you sailed on - or dream of sailing on? What sort of sailing do you do? Cruising, racing, beercans, YRA . . . Transpac??

Spent youth on Sailfish and Hobie Cat. In high school, I raced dinghys in Detroit (ha!) and crewed on a yawl in Lake Huron and for friend's fathers on a Michigan/Ontario race - first girl on crew for cooking and spinnakers. Had a variety of sailing experiences through college, mainly with friends who crewed on boats. Owned an O'Day 22 in Wisconsin and sailed 4 months out of mooring. Now sailing in San Francisco Bay with a friend occasionally on his 32 foot, fiberglass sailboat.

If you are a private boat owner -- please describe your vessel in as much detail as you can.

No longer have my boat.

Do you have any US sailing or ASA certificates? Do you bareboat charter?

I don't have sailing certificates and haven't a bareboat certification either.

Are you disabled or have limited mobility? You'll be welcomed, but it's very important for skippers to know ahead of time to keep everyone safe while sailing (you included).

I have some limited range of motion with right shoulder at this point. Doesn't interfere with turning a winch or pulling a line. Enthusiasm makes up for lack of strength most of the time. I am older and wiser, I think....

Loving my life in the East Bay: hiking, dog walking, sailing, ceramic sculpture work, taking classes with friends, and spending time with my grand-children.
