Introduction

I've got a little bit of experience sailing, would like to have more.

How would you describe your sailing experience? At the end of your description include a title for yourself (look at other profiles, or the about page for ideas)

Sailed around on the bay a few times. Did an island crossing from Antigua to Guadeloupe once. I know the basics and pick stuff up fast. Not afraid of being yelled at. Could I be "Midshipman Miles"?

What type boats have you sailed on - or dream of sailing on? What sort of sailing do you do? Cruising, racing, beercans, YRA . . . Transpac??

Just sailed on small crafts. 20-35 footers. If I had to choose a destination it would be open ocean sailing, big crossings.

If you are a private boat owner -- please describe your vessel in as much detail as you can.

Nope.

Do you have any US sailing or ASA certificates? Do you bareboat charter?

Nope.

Are you disabled or have limited mobility? You'll be welcomed, but it's very important for skippers to know ahead of time to keep everyone safe while sailing (you included).

nope.

  • Thinking of you and wishing you well. I have so many fond memories of the Sierras.

Plans for Scotland and the Alps this year. It's way more complicated, expensive and unpredictable :)

  • Miles....

Thanks so much for hosting today! Was a beaut and met many fun peeps who may yet be in for a trip or two this winter. Would you be in for a Glacier Point out-and-back at some point in January?

    Cheers!

  • Hi Miles... I'm a bit concerned that I still don't know what is planned for this weekend... if you get a chance please send me a note or call [masked]

  • Miles... Here are the shelters I was talking about last night. Some require the addition of a trekking pole (which I know you don't use) but would only add 4-5 oz to the total shelter weight if you took one.

  • Miles, It's unclear if I'm in the group going on the Memorial Day wknd trip. I'm listed under the lottery results you wrote up but not on the list of those going. Can you clarify? Thanks!

  • Hi Miles, John said I shoot you a line and see if you wanted to go hike the Ohlone with me this weekend! (I invited him, but he can't take his sailboat.)

  • Is this the Miles I think it might be? Hello! I've been longing for moonlit nights in my tent surrounded by trees and mountains (that aren't buried in snow!), and with spring just around the corner I'm eager to line up some trips. (This full-moon weekend I'm heading up to the backcountry Sequoia National Park on skis but I'll (hopefully) be sleeping inside a hut! Brrr!)
I hope you're well! See ya!

  • I couldn't tell if there is availability. One screen says 5 spots available, another says there is a waiting list. Can you let me know? Also, is there just one house with 6 bedrooms? Someone mentioned a "main house?" Thx!
