I have taken some good classes, and am gaining experience by chartering boats with a local boat club here on the SF bay. When I have less time, or find it inconvenient to round up a crew, I sail with the meetup groups, or some of the local clubs weeknight/afterwork sails.
Ive sailed dinghys, keelboats, cruisers, and a few others. Most of my experience is with sailboats in the 30 to 40 foot range, but I can pilot a RIB as well. Overall I am more interested in weekending/day sailing on the bay and checking out local sites. I hope to do the Baja-ha-ha in the next couple of years.
No boat yet. Contact me if you're thinking of selling a 27' to 32' sailboat. A Catalina 30 would fit the bill nicely.
US Sailing Bareboat. I charter locally while I slowly hunt for a sailboat, mostly day and weekend sailing now. I generally take a sailing course per year to balance formal education with sea time and experience. I am currently enrolled in the Coastal Passagemaking course and completed the coastal nav class.
I have been sailing for a few years and am enthusiastic about getting out on the bay as often as I can.
Had a great time.
