  • Please join us for a lovely walk and lunch. Let's meet at the playground of Vinoy Park in downtown St. Pete, walk along the water to Coffee Pot Bayou and back (about 4 miles round trip) and then on to the Saturday Morning Market at Progress Energy Field, where we can shop and eat lunch.

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS DATE CHANGE FROM 3/29, DUE TO ST.  PETE GRAND PRIX EVENT LAST WEEKEND OF MARCH.

All: The weather is not looking good for Saturday morning, I'm afraid. I am not cancelling the walk, but I will not be attending IF it's raining. You will each have to make your own decision. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the weather forecasters are wrong. This is disappointing, since I've rescheduled this walk 3 times already, due to events happening in downtown St. Pete.

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to cancel. I'll be working at my Coastal real estate office on Beach Dr from 11-3 if anyone wants to drop by ;-)

My suggestion is to find 7th Ave N & just go east towards Tampa Bay. It runs right into the parking lot in the park on Bayshore Dr NEwhich is where Northshore Park is. It has a large swimming facility & several softball fields.

Sorry for all the changes, downtown St. Pete is a busy place these days. Jazz Fest will be at Vinoy Park the weekend of 4/12, so I'm changing the date AGAIN - to Saturday 5/3. I've checked the city calendar and it looks like a good date for us.

Hi Pattie. I'm okay for the 3rd. Here's another idea for what it's worth. We could park a that park at the north end of our walk on Coffee Pot Bayou & walk south towards Park & keep going to the market. Of course if anyone buys anything they'll have to schlep it back to where we parked.

I agree that carrying purchases and more walking might be a stretch later in the day, as it will be getting hot.

Darn...we'll be leaving for home at the end of March. I guess Eric and I will walk Coffee Pot Bayou on our own on the 29th. We love that area of St. Pete.

Thanks for the info, Debi. I am changing the date from 3/29 to 4/12. Hope this doesn't mess up anyone's plans.
