It's perfect weather for hiking, still good chance for wildflower and bird watching.

  • Kam

Jenny's careful planning paid off. Many cool sights and experiences. Point Reyes is a wild and beautiful place to visit. Thanks, Jenny!

    April 30, 2012

  • Xiangying

Thank Jenny's careful planning to make it happen. Had lots of fun with the team together. Too many highlights made me feel the Sun is too short. 3 Trips to Point Reyes in a month. Finally we can give Point Reyes a break for some time :D

    April 30, 2012

  • Yinni

This is definitely a 5+ star trip! Too many highlights!
I enjoy massaging my feet with warm sand while hiking from North Beach to South beach bare foot. I won’t get tired of taking pictures of the wild flowers in North Beach. I feel so lucky to see whales near the light house!
Now Point Reyes is my favorite place and I think I will to visit it every spring in the future!
Thanks Jenny for all the planning and all organizers! Jenny we will miss you!

Three times in April at Point Reyes, I visited all the places where I wanted to. Kam and Bo, thank you for shuttling our drivers from South Beach to North Beach. Thanks for all drivers for cooperating with our busy plan on the trip.

5 stars, two thumbs up. Thank you, Jenny.

    April 30, 2012

  • Gloria

Beautiful place!! Beach, light house, birds, seal, whale, wild flowers!! Couldn't be better! Jenny did a great job organizing. Thanks!

    April 30, 2012

  • Yanming Z.

excellent organized and planned. We saw the whales (the amount is more than 5+), seals, elephant seals (sea lion? the amount is more than 80+ on two beaches) and the legendary sea dragon (only one). The birds and birdwatchers, lots of wild flowers, touring in the tree tunnel, walking on beach, playing with the waves. All are memorized in photos... It is the best social and sightseeing hike so far.

  • iris

A lot of flowers. I love the trail plan.

    April 30, 2012

The first time I saw whales in Point Reyes. The flowers in North Beach are breathtaking.

Though very relaxing, still a great hike!

    April 29, 2012

We have one spot car pool at '22000 Center Street, Castro Valley' from east bay..

    April 28, 2012

  • Summer

I will meet at Cupertino tomorrow. Which car shall I get on, team leader?

    April 28, 2012

  • Joseph Z.

I am no interested in the dinner.

    April 27, 2012

  • Xiangying

Who want to skip dinner? Please email hosts or comment here. Thanks. Liang, other than this, it is almost final. The traffic seems OK tonight. I will leave question 2) to Jenny.

    April 27, 2012

  • Eric

Hey guys, sorry for the spam, but I think I still have many questions. 1). Is the carpool arrangement done? Or drivers need to find his own passenger and meet location. 2) Meet near Kehoe Beach [masked],[masked])? The GPS location is not a parking spot although there is one nearby. 3) the outgoing traffic at golden gate is still do-able, right? although it may be slow?

Liang, according to abc news post above san rafael bridge is expect to have a delay too. Last week, we left point reyes around 7:10pm and without any stop we arrived Cupertion around 10;10pm, with regular weekend traffic to the area.

    1 · April 27, 2012

  • Eric

can we skip the dinner or move to east bay so that we can take 880 back. no difference to people in south bay and toll free

From my last week experience, in case on your return trip get stuck in the trafffic and missed your dinner time, a extra food in your pocket will be your saver. And try not to drink too much water after 4pm, it will make your traffic jam driver little smoother. Good luck, you all have a nice weekend, see you all on the next hike.

    April 27, 2012

  • Joseph Z.

Drive on the east side of the bay (880), and you can avoid golden gate bridge .

With love, here is some information for you all
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) – Caltrans is urging drivers to steer clear of the Golden Gate Bridge this weekend as the Doyle Drive approach to the bridge will be closed from Friday night to Monday morning.

Crews will be demolishing the elevated approach to the span, which is part of the Presidio Parkway project to replace the old roadway.

  • Bing

Hi I am in east bay area (close to Fremont). Thanks.

    April 26, 2012

  • Andy W.

Haha, we actually did an extra .5 miles by missing the trail back to the parking lot. And, Aki proved himself to be an excellent beach runner!

    Doyle Drive weekend closure.
Expect major delays from GGB to Hwy. 1

    Nope.

    April 25, 2012

  • Qinggang

In this case, if you have a personal preference, you may act on it constructively. There is no need to label others likes/dislikes good or bad. You may choose not attending the event. A more constructive way is to organize your own event based on your own preference (well, on a different day). Personally, I don't like get up too early either. But I would respect the organizers and other members.

    4 · April 25, 2012

  • Qinggang

I feel compelled to say sth here. Everyone has his/her own likes/dislikes. He/she has the right acting on it and he/she should have. In the mean time, please respect others' likes and dislikes. Others have the rights as well. Especially to an event organizer, we need to show respects too because an event organizer usually volunteers a lot of work for everyone. He/she deserves it.

    B) hike more than 12 hours a day

    C) have dinner at all

    D) all of the above

Please cast your vote before 11:59 pm Friday.

    April 25, 2012

  • Xiangying

Thank all members' interests and support. Due to the trip arrangement and limited time before the hiking date, we plan to stick to the current schedule. Last time we could change time as the last one did allow it but this one seems not. Thanks for understanding. We will keep early starting time as one item for consideration in future events. For members who have troubles with 6:30, could you please try to slightly revise the trip plan and call for a new event next week?

    April 25, 2012

  • Katie

Did this event break the record? 77 comments plus mine!!! Come on , just relax and enjoy it. Life is too short:))

    这是谣传,6:30pm我只能赶第二天的早餐 :D

    April 25, 2012

  • Super A. M.

I heard that Hailong can start at 6:30 pm and still make it to the dinner table on time.

    April 25, 2012

  • Xiangying

Our intention is to allow the group to visit many places in one trip. Please check the time table above, for which Jenny did a lot of homework. The schedule is pretty tight. With 30+ folks in a remote place, we also need some buffer to handle unexpected events. I too want to sleep more. But hope this explanation makes sense. If we do 7am, We may likely have to cut one place from the plan.

    April 25, 2012

  • hailong t.

    算了,一不小心成恶人了。对我来说,6:30还是7点并不重要,每个member也可以提出自己的建议,不过做决定的还是organizer.//另外我不是主办人,只是个outlier

    April 25, 2012

  • hailong t.

Are you kidding me, you want to have a vote and force organizer to change plan? Could you please show some respect to organizer? If you think this event is not healthy, why bother joining this event? Just change RSVP to no and organize your own event.

    April 25, 2012

  • hailong t.

Laurene, you are free to organize your after-7am-event.

    April 25, 2012

  • hailong t.

Although I'm not event host, I guess they should have no problem if anyone want to get up after 7am and directly drive to trail head by himself/herself

Ladies, please, could you hold the arguments on what is a balanced life? Everyone seem to have different biological clocks. So let us be more tolerant and considerate on other people's life rhythms. :)

    April 25, 2012

My Sep. Disneyland half marathon race starts at 5:45 am. I won't call that unhealthy or inbalance of my life
