Welcome Women! Meet weekdays and weekends to walk or run 3 miles or more at various locations throughout the Bay Area. Our group is social but fitness is our goal. Minimum requirement is that you can move for 60 minutes already. The pace doesn't matter.
Some of us walk for fitness. Some of us mix walking/running. Some of us are pretty serious runners and are training to improve. Most of us participate in a race once in a while. I encourage women to compete in a few events every year and I help them train. Setting goals and following through makes a big difference in sticking with a fitness plan. But racing is not a requirement to come out and move!
Abilities include:
Walkers who can walk for at least 60 minutes - want to maintain or improve general fitness. Maybe lose some weight, too. You don't have to move fast but you have to have the stamina to be on your feet for this long or you won't have much fun with us.
Recreational Runners and Runner/Walkers - 10-15 min/mile - sometimes compete. These women are competing with themselves to improve their fitness, lose weight, and race to stay focused. Many comment on the stress relief from their busy lives, too. We have many women who are in this category.
Runners or runner/Walkers 8 - 12 min/miles, compete often. Are truly into competing, training for events and placing well in their age divisions or striving to qualify for a goal like The Boston Marathon.
All ages, all abilities welcome! Currently 5 workouts a week throughout the Bay Area. Come on out! Drop-ins encouraged.
Coached by certified personal trainer, nutrition consultant and running coach Stephanie Atwood. All coached workouts have a fee.

Piedmont High School has a wonderful track. The track is open to the public before and after school hours only. Every once in a while it is closed. If this happens we'll run the city streets. Piedmont is a safe, beautiful place to run.
Meet at the bleachers. Look for The WOW Team. The workout starts right at 6:30 with warm-ups. Drop-ins are welcome.
