Hi Pavan,

Whether you are a recent graduate or not is not a problem at all. This series of events is about helping to explain your career options within the software industry. If you are looking to find out the different routes and differences between various career options then it's a perfect event. There are indeed a few people attending that have started companies, I believe one that has sought funding that can give you some help/advice here. Although I don't believe its related to Y combinator. If this is what you're hoping for then it will be perfect.

Incidentally by the sound of things you will also enjoy: http://www.meetup.com/grad-dc/events/48009522/

Any other questions from anyone please send them through.

Thanks,
Barry

Hi Anji,

I have taken a spot but wanted to check first that this is appropriate considering I'm not a recent graduate. However I feel like one because I've recently started to learn ruby on rails with a view to build my own app, to have a detailed, low level understanding of the language and framework.

This being said I am applying to Y Combinator and I am looking for a mentor that can guide me in building this as well as under/graduate ruby developers to co-found this concept with me. The deadline is the 28th and I'm actually keen to see if we can
Identify that potentially world changing individual before then.

I truly believe with the right team we can change the world. If my having graduated in 2004 means a more recent graduate should take priority and take my spot then I understand. Please let me know your thoughts.

All the best,

Pavan
