Hi all

The 2nd Spring of Code 2nd is today Friday 16th March at London Hackspace and we'd love to have the GDC mentors and mentees to join the event.
Here is a bit more information about what this is all about:

The Spring of Code is not a Hackathon. Coding happens mostly between events, not during.
Here is what you can expect from our bi-montly events:
  • Lightning tech pitches (90 sec)
  • Geek talks / drinks and food
  • Mentorship on projects

How is this thing working?

During 3 months, the Spring of Code project aims to bring coders together to work on social change software. Early suggestions are to upgrade the Sukey mobile app code to keep demonstrators out of police kettles, to put freecycle-style thinking on to mobiles, and to write the code for an RSS feed for embedded media players driven by user-selected tags. But nothing is decided yet!

After being pitched, projects will be chosen by voting, participants will team up and report their progress at each event where they'll find feedback, mentorship and hopefully more support.

Learn and Share

This is a tremendous opportunity for young developers to get together and practice their new skills with fellow Spring of Coders.

Come hear from mentors, learn lots of cool new stuff and mingle with people from a totally different domain. This also the chance to directly give your input on the technical direction of a project.

Hope to see you Friday 6.30PM in Hackpspace!

Thanks

Marc and the Spring of Code team
