Couples Night and Open Gaming

This Meetup will have all the usual open gaming we are all accustomed to however we want to have a special night for all the couples out there in celebration of Valentine's Day! I know myself my wife usually doesn't attend so I thought of this with her in mind and all the other gamers out there with significant others whom stay home on game night. We also have many couples already attending! The games will be "gateway" games or party games so anyone at any level of the hobby will feel comfortable. Please bring some games of your own if you can for more choice. I'm bringing "Dixit" and "Ticket to Ride" for example. I'm also bringing "Mrs. Baker so you have a rare chance to see my wife! Yes, she married a geek!

So whether you just want to play your favorite games or you want to participate in "couples night" please come and have fun! By no means is it required for all to participate. There will be many whom don't so there will be others to join in with!

Hi there. I have not yet been able to join in on any of the fun, so I was curious: Games on this night. Do you mean board games, cards... what types of games exactly? Also, what is Serenity like? Food and beverage? Hopefully non-smoking?

    Thanks much for jotting back!

There are tons of games. You don't have to know any of them, and whatever you have played before won't matter. There is always something to fit everyone's style and preferences. Anyway, it's not just about the games.

p.s. Serenity games is a little game shop. It can be loud...as any room full of tables and people will be. Fun, tolerant, and no...there is no smoking inside.

What a great time, and a great first time!!!!!! My wife had an absolutely great time, which made my time even better. Can't wait to join the group again. Some how I am going to have to try and fit every other Saturday into my already crazy schedule!

I'll be aiming to get Suburbia and Ground Floor played, and if I can garner interest, I'd like to see some folks playtest Mean Streets again with a new board design and one rule modification.

It is. It's a very solid box, one of the best I've seen - you could drop a brick on that game and it wouldn't scratch it. Plus a lot of tiles and game bits.

I can bring a brick if you want to test it.

Well I'm unfortunately newly single, but I'm dying to play games more often and get to be a part of the board game group, so hopefully we singletons are welcome too. :-)
