Grand Gamer Fund Raiser, Raffle, and Open Game Night!

Well it's that time again! Our website meetup dues are coming up soon (Aug 2). Every 6 months I must pay "Meetup.com" our website costs of $72. I have absorbed the costs the last 12 months myself. I need your generosity please to keep the website going. Most meet ups have dues but I think we can make it more fun instead! Let's do a Raffle! This time with even more awesome prizes! Mike at Serenity games is donating some items and myself to raise money for our club. We also have some Olive Garden Gift cards. On top of that we will buy gift certificates with any excess we generate.  So help our game club and win some cool stuff! Sounds good to me! Want something more? How about another awesome night of gaming too that we have all grown to appreciate. I know I do! I hated missing last weekend!

Raffle Details:

$1.00 per ticket or $5.00 for 6 tickets.

Winner's will pick their prize based on availability.  Prizes will be viewed on the prize table.(Ex. Mike's number is drawn and picks from the table of prizes. He then picks one prize and now there in one less for the next drawing.) I like this so you can pick something you like.

Please bring singles or exact change if you can.

Prizes: Various games, Serenity gift certificates, Olive Garden Gift cards, and 2 brand new rare and exclusive Kickstarter "Zombicide" shirts. Gift Certificates amounts and numbers will be based on how much we raise.

Raffle will be at 8:30pm. You must be present to win or have a friend claim it for you in person.

If you can't make it to the event and you still want to help out just catch me at one of our next meetups or send money to my paypal account: [masked] and put in notes section "Grand Gamer Website Fund Raiser.

Thanks so much guys! See you in Two Weeks!

Woohoo!

Will

I am so amazed at the kind of people in this game club. We have the absolute best members. You guys make this club great! The amount of generosity from the people whom added to the raffle to the people that bought the raffle tickets. You guys are just awesome! Special thanks to Matt Fox, Karen Boginski, Serenity Games, and US Games. Woohoo!

Once again great time! Learned Gearworld...definately promise with that one, bit bumpy, but Cynthia, Noble and Oliver made it a great time spent. Then played the light Once Upon a Time...what a blast. And topped off with some Shadow Hunters...good night. Raffle was great too!

Gearworld takes a bit to get the hang of but is a real cool game. Very high on my list now. Thank you Cynthia! And Matt and Oliver!

Awesome time and an awesome raffle! We raised over $200 for the raffle, most of which was put directly back into the club in the form of prizes. I saw and/or played: Core Worlds, Lords of Waterdeep, Kingsburg, GearWorld, Pandemic, Tzol'Kin, and more. I also won a gift cert in the raffle, which was immediately used to purchase Seasons and the expansion, Enchanted Kingdoms!

I noticed there were people playing Wizard a couple of meetups ago, so I'll also be bringing a copy of a new game called HeartSwitch (by the guy who made up Wizard) to give away to one of the card players at the Meetup!

I will be bringing Gearworld and I will be able to teach it. I just have to try and get some cheat sheets made. They have one on the back cover but that doesn't help the players. I actually plan on getting there early and setting it up. I don't have room at home to set the board up.

:( I won't have my game "The Zone" in time for the weekend. Are there even a couple of people in this group that would actually want to play a 2 person strategy game with tanks? Particularly while all the bigger games are going on? If so, I should definitely have it on the 10th :)

I have been advocating "game creator" as a more appropriate title, but the short answer is yes :)

I'll be bringing a "Hooyah: A Navy Seals Card Game" - it's a pretty fun 1-4 player game ... so if i get shunned I can always play it alone! :D

    July 24, 2013

    • Will B.

I would love to play! I'm going to do my best to play some games and run the raffle. I know I have a game with Cynthia maybe and I wanted to bring out a few games myself. So little time and too many games!

Update: Olive Garden has donated gift certificates to our Raffle. I can almost taste that "Tour of Italy" , salad, and bread sticks now! It must be getting closer to lunch!

@Art and Linda: I will be bringing your copy of Shadow Rift with me. I wanted to keep it but I didn't want a Squid coming after me! LOL!

Question - is anyone familiar with "Gearworld"? I saw it on a store shelf recently and it looked interesting. http://www.icv2.com/articles/news/25081.html

Cool! The box claims it only takes 1 - 2 hours so despite the slight complexity it shouldn't take forever to play it.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
