Scotch Whiskey tasting - A journey across the highlands to the islands

Our next event, is a little fun diversion from our regular Wine and Food pairing events. Based on member interest and feedback, we now set forth to learn and taste Whiskey which in Gaelic meant the "Water of Life".

How best to start this journey other than with a lesson and tasting six single-malt Whiskies from five different regions of Scotland ?

We will learn how to properly nose and taste with Laphroaig from the island of Islay; Talisker from the island of Skye, Balvenie and Craggamore from Speyside, Glenkinchie from the Lowlands and Oban from the Highlands.

To attend this event please buy your coupon from Living Social for the class on Thursday April 18th 6pm. There are only a limited spots available for this event with Living Social, so only RSVP after you have purchased your ticket. https://www.livingsocial.com/events/635896-1-5-hour-scotch-whisky-tasting

Agreed. But the Scotch refer to their whiskey as whisky ;)

Great time tonight, making my first foray into the world of Scotch. Loved the smoothness of the Glenkinchie, the overall balance of the Oban, the distinct character of the malts from the Islands and Speyside. Perhaps the beginning of the journey into the world of whiskey ..

Oh man! I love bourbon and would love to get to know Scotch better, but Thursdays aren't usually good for me. I hope you all enjoy it!
