Beers - Traditions, Regions & Flavors

  • This location is shown only to members

Our next event is all about Beers and our choice of venue has an unparalleled collection of 555 artisanal beers.

"Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza." -Dave Barry

Located on 14th Street near Logan Circle, "Birch & Barley" delivers a completely unique food and beer experience celebrating a full spectrum of styles, traditions, regions and flavors.

The Beer choice is exceptional and the food menu is committed to the region’s finest ingredients and guided by the seasons, as Chef Kyle Bailey and Pastry Chef Tiffany MacIsaac cook deceptively simple, market driven dishes that draw flavor inspiration from the beers of Birch & Barley. Together they transform the once curious marriage of fine food and beer into something unexpected and exciting.

Just got here and at the Bar upstairs. We have a table downstairs for our group at 6:30.

Somehow I was mixed up and went last week. I can't make it tomorrow. The beer is excellent. Try either of the Kolsch beers- they were great. Also I tried a Belgian triple, smoked porter, and a Jasmine rice beer. All were excellent.... The pretzels are great too.

Does this cost anything extra? Love Churchkey. Never been downstairs.

Birch & Barley offers a more extensive Dinner & Pastry menu and takes reservation requests unlike the upstairs section ie ChurchKey. May probably not have any Happy Hour rates on Beers downstairs but the prices seem reasonably good.

Would you consider having a meet-up in Frederick?

    June 24, 2013

    • Rodolfo

Hopefully someday, for doing the Frederick Wine trail as a meetup event. I think, Frederick has a nice downtown area to explore, but not sure how many current members would be willing to make that trip.
