How about starting off the New Year, with a visit to Virginia's ever growing wine region, where we can have a Wine & Food pairing afternoon with live music in the background ?
We have selected Paradise Springs Winery, the winner of the 2010 Governor's Cup, as our destination for this event.
Located in the quaint town of Clifton, Virginia and bordering Bull Run River, Paradise Springs Winery and Vineyard is the closest winery to Washington DC and the first in Fairfax County.
At the winery, depending on the weather we will sit on the outside patio or the back deck which is canvased in for the winter, pairing wine with cheese and charcuterie while catching a performance by local musicians Pam Logan on vocals and George Dacre who plays 12 string slide guitar, performing a wide variety of songs by various artists such as the Eagles, Beatles, Doc Watson, Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, Linda Rondstadt, Nora Jones, and others..
The music performance starts at 1pm, and we will be there at 12:30 pm.
Please get a food pairing of your choice, to share or you can buy cheeses, meats, crackers, baguettes, spreads, and various snack type foods at the winery.
Here is the list of wine varietals available at the winery, http://www.paradisespringswinery.com/wines.html
You could also invite a friend/guest, who enjoys wine and the good company of our fun & friendly members, as we will try to accommodate a bigger group for this event.
For those that do not drive, we will try to coordinate car-pooling from convenient metro locations. Please respond when you RSVP whether you can offer a ride or need a ride.
