Hello Graphic Bibliophiles!

If you have already joined, thank you and WELCOME to the missing dimension!  You won't regret it.

If you haven't joined yet, I hope you do.  We have a good time.

What is a graphic novel?  The simpler answers include (1) a form of independent comics, (2) a longer-form but non-ongoing-series comic book, or (3) a novel-length sequential art narrative that treats subject(s) similar to those of other novels of both fiction and nonfiction.

When will we meet?  Thirds Thursdays of every month at 7:30 pm.  Set aside Third Thursdays for your "g-lit is legit" fix.

Where will we meet? Although I haven't chosen the exact place(s) yet, I plan to hold meet-ups in downtown Tempe within a reasonable walking (and wheeling) distance of ASU and the light rail.

What will we do? The aims of this "book club" will be discussing alternative graphic literature in context: graphic novels such as the other-than-super-hero themed graphic novel and supplemental materials on the Internet such as articles or clips directly related to the themes or settings that will help us readers put each selection into context and aid in our understanding.

I look forward to meeting you at the next meet-up over an awesome graphic novel and a cup of something good to drink.

Angie
