UX and Design: It's where every cool web/mobile idea starts!

What is User Experience UX? What do IA (Information Architects) create? How are the two similar to design? How are they different? We've invited a few of the best UX experts in Chicago to discuss cool digital ideas...show their work...and explain the role of UX and IA in the process. Meet Brad Gerstein, EVP at Thought Matrix, Ben Finch, Founder and Managing Director of Killswitch Collective and Pek Pongpaet, App developer and web entrepreneur. Hosted by the nice people at Digital Bootcamp and Chicago Portfolio School.

I really enjoyed this meetup. All the presenters did an excellent job and were great about answering all their questions. In future, it is possible to have an after meeting/before meeting networking component? It's rare that I get a chance to meet people in my field of interest and I think this Meetup would do an excellent job at facilitating this. Please let me know. I would be happy to assist with any additional ideas.

Good introduction to the subject matter. The topic had endless possibilities but the presenters and the questions didn't go beneath the surface idea of UX. The book recommendations were the best takeaways: Don't Make Me Think and Design of Everyday Things. Both excellent reads.

Jeff, I am planning on attending, but want to also let you know that I am not a designer or developer, but rather a founder of a social network for diabetics that is in development and was hoping to sit in, learn a little, and also network with the group. I have confirmed for this evening, but wanted to let you know in advance the reason for my attendence. Thank you and look forward to the meeting. Billy McFadden

Hi there. I love to arrange the meetup, invite some designers and we can have it at Chicago Portfolio School. I know lots of designers are going horizontal with their scroll/layouts. Can anyone suggest a specific designer they would like me to invite? Killswitch Collective? Other suggestions?
