Make a Website From Start to Finish

Learn how to create a new website to highlight your design work in just 2 hours.

No design/technical experience required. In this hands-on workshop, I'll show you how to search for and register your domain name, set up your web hosting, log in to WordPress® and start adding content to your site.

No previous web experience is required.

This workshop is for those that don't have a current website but want one. Must bring a laptop capable of connecting to Wi-Fi to this event.

Important: What to bring (this will be hands on, you will make your website during the workshop)

- Ideas for a domain name. (yourname.com)
- Some of your favorite digital photographs or digital designs.
- Credit Card to purchase your domain name (around $12, I have a special coupon to get you a hosting trial for free)
- Laptop capable of connecting to Wi-Fi.

Will there be another meetup like this one? I really wish I couldve made it.

I'm not the one giving the presentation, and I can't speak for the person who is. However, I wouldn't count on one-on-one tutoring.

@Patrick, WordPress is a free open source Content Management System. It basically creates a website for you and allows you to manage and update the content with ease. Unless the host is going to be teaching everyone how to make their own WP template.
