DudhSagar Falls located on the Mandovi River in the state of Goa, on Goa's border with Karnataka. Dudhsagar Falls is listed as India's 5th tallest waterfall, and is 227th in the world at 310 m.
This is a four tiered waterfall with a total height of 310 meters (1017 feet) and an average width of 30 meters (100 feet).
The grand view of the mighty falls.
Through the tunnels...
Another view of the falls....
The most scenic trek through the tunnels and along the railway tracks, hundreds of scintillating pristine streams can be spotted along the trek.
What we try to do ? :
Railway track [in operation] runs close to the falls , which also has few tunnels on the way to the falls, we will get down at Kulem Railway Station and and trek 12km to water falls. Camp near the falls and take train back to Londa next day and board train back to Hyderabad from there. We will be back by 7am Monday. Whole place will be so pristine in monsoon and added to that different experience of trekking through tunnels. Camping in nature .. best part is we have to find the place is to where to stay ... :).
We will be trekking from Kulem station to Dudhsagar Waterfalls.
The famous photograph (the first photograph on this meetup page) of Trains passing before the waterfalls can be seen in this route and also the complete stretch of the falls will be visible while you hike towards the waterfalls.
If people want to trek the Castle rock to Dudhsagar railway track then we will work out this option also.
Expect few leeches but you will get used to that :)
