Where : Kolhapur
Difficulty level : Difficult.... exploratory ...might use compass for directions

We have to trek 60kms in less than 3 days ... through beautiful terrain

The beautiful story of power, politics and courage .... which led to successful escape of Shivaji. We would follow the path he had taken and trace the history too.

Panhala or Panhalgarh, about 19kms north-west of Kolhapur, is possibly the largest and most important fort of the Deccan.  Roughly triangular in shape, the hill fort stands at a height of about 850 metres and has a circumference of approximately 7.25kms.

We will descend from Pusati Buruj at Panhala Fort and head through jungles crossing the villages as shown in picture below 

Things to bring: [ All are must ]

Raincover for bag 
Sleeping bag ,Torch 
Trekking wear , Shoes & Extra pair of socks. [ Get good shoes and better if you are using them already] 
Need to carry Food Items [ for 2-3 days] 
Will let you know more info regarding things to bring in separate email.

[ Food is excluded /GHAC refund rules apply ... as we need to carry food] 

Responsible Trekking: Most of us may not be serious trekkers but all of us have equal responsibility in protecting our beloved earth. GHAC earnestly requests all its members to be socially responsible whilst the treks and avoid any littering, shouting when in wild or causing anything that would disturb the normal ecology. Try to avoid plastics as much as possible.

Itenary : 

Thursday : board train/bus and reach Hubli. 

Friday: Catch bus from Hubli to Kolhapur (panhala) 

Reach the fort and descend down

Find open place to pitch tent ( will try to reach Mhasai Pathar)

Saturday : Start very early in the morning 

Have lunch at one of the villages  (will try to reach Karpewadi)

Reach Pavankhind before Sunset

Sunday : Reach Vishalgad by noon and head back Hubli 

Board the bus/Train to hyd

Monday : Tata bye bye 

Important Instructions: 
1) No smoking and no alcohol 
2) No littering, no pollution of water 
3) This is not a luxury trip, but all care has been taken to make your trip comfortable 
4) ladies and gents accommodation is separate in tents. 
5) Food will be mostly vegetarian 
6) We carry Basic First Aid, please do inform us if you need any special attention. 
7) if you feel unwell bring to the notice of the organizers immediately.
