Request : Boring people Please don't do RSVP. This is an Exploratory Trip and so people who want to RSVP, please note that all the permissions and arrangements are made by the forest dept. help, so there shouldn't be a problem but make sure that you are ready to face the challenges (If there are any). Please don't RSVP if you are expecting this to be a luxury vacation.
About the Place: Talakona is a place near Tirupati about 49kms away. It is well endowed with waterfalls, dense forests and wildlife. Mostly famous for its waterfalls, Talakona has the most wholesome and serene atmosphere. This area was declared as biosphere reserve during[masked] due to the presence of rich variety of flora and fauna.
The Talakona forests host certain rare and endangered species of animals. The forest is mostly covered with sandalwood trees with some valuable medicinal plants.
There is a beautiful waterfall falling deep into the valley from solid rock cliff on the upper reaches. There is a 240 meter long canopy rope walk, about 35 to 40 feet height, giving a thrilling experience to the visitors while walking. There are number of trek routes in different categories giving an option for you to choose a route that fits you.

Friday: 08:30 pm : Departure from Hyderabad (will be in train)
Saturday: 07:00 Am : Reach Tirupathi, Have Breakfast and leave to Talakona in Jeeps 11:00 Am : Reach Talakona, Check in to the Forest Guest House (or we can plan for tents if possible) 11:30 Am : Canopy rope walk and short trek in the vicinity of the Forest Guest House 01:00 Pm : Lunch in the afternoon 02:30 pm : Trek to Talakona waterfalls (Accompanied by Forest Department Staff) 06:00 pm : Campfire followed by dinner & overnight stay at Forest Guest House or Tents
Sunday: 05:00 am : Wake up & Refresh 06:00 am : Trek to Sidhalagandi Lake & Other Places (Accompanied by Forest Department Staff) (This will be a trek till evening 4:00 So we will carry lunch with us, yet to decide what....) 04:00 pm : pack up and leave from Talakona in Jeeps(Dinner en route, if time permits) 08:00 pm :Departure from Tirupati (By train)
Monday: 08:00 Am : Reach Hyderabad and disperse.

[ Get good shoes and better if you are using them already] Will include if remember any, or please add if you get more ideas.... *Extra snacks to make more friends .. :) smiles Damages .. 2100 / - . might increase or decrease. we will share the cost if it is more than this , but mostly (90 %) it wont be Note: Most of us may not be serious trekkers but all of us have equal responsibility in protecting our beloved earth. GHAC earnestly requests all its members to be socially responsible whilst the treks and avoid any littering, shouting when in wild or causing anything that would disturb the normal ecology. Try to avoid plastics as much as possible, especially plastic smiles.
