Ok guys - I'm going to be in town for a Dr appointment and to pick up my 10th Dane Sonterra. She is 4 and the littermate sister to Zeus and Dolf.

Dodger and his family moved out of the Texas area and will miss everyone in the meetup group. Dodger is loving his new home with half an acre back yard and rabbits to chase ! We have a neighbor who has a male great dane and will be getting in touch with them to see if he can have a playdate :) Enjoy the meetups everyone !!!

Hi everyone! We are adopting a 14 month old black Dane named Jake to add to our family. My kids are so excited and I am both excited and a little nervous to have such a large doggie in our home. Any advice? I have had a boxer before and Jake was raised with two littles around him since birth. We would love to have Jack with us in town for walks and dog park fun but not sure where to look. Also, does anyone suggest a large breed vet in the NW Austin area? A fav food or kibble and any thing else would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome to the group! I would definitely recommend training (at least basic) for your new dog to help establish your alpha position with him. There is a great trainer in Cedar Park at[masked]-WOOF (9663), Capital City Dog Training (Yvette Campos). I think she has a training class coming up in the next month or so which we plan to sign up for our new puppy, She's great! Tell her Amy and Karen referred you.

Lots of food options out there. I can recommend Precise Hollistic Complete or Fromm's Hollistic from my experience.
