It's been a couple of years, but the Potluck Meetup is back! For newer members that have never been to a Potluck Meetup, it's just what the name implies. This meetup will be at our home and we will grill hot dogs and provide all the fixin's for them, while members bring a potluck side dish such as a salad, casserole, appetizer or dessert. We'll provide water and ice, but you can bring your own drink, either alcoholic or not. This will be an all afternoon meetup beginning at 11:30 and we'll plan to eat around 12:30. For our long-term members who remember the Potluck at our previous home, we are still in Spicewood, but no longer live on Lake Travis. However, we have 4 fenced acres with a big pond for the furkids to splash around in.
Because this meetup is at our home, YOU MUST RSVP IF YOU ARE ATTENDING. We need an accurate count of how many people will attend. When you RSVP, PLEASE INDICATE IN YOUR COMMENTS WHAT POTLUCK DISH YOU WILL BRING so everyone can see and we don't have too many of one type of food. Food from past potlucks has always been incredibly yummy. Bring towels for the furkids (or yourself if you want to get in) because if they go in the pond, it can be a little muddy when they come out and step on the dirt. Also, please bring extra lawn chairs. We have seating for about 30, but if the turnout is larger, we'll need extra chairs. Please park along the street, walk up the driveway and around back where we will be set up.
We are in Spicewood in Double Horn Creek Subdivision about 23 miles past the Hwy 620/71 intersection. Take Hwy 71 West toward Marble Falls. You'll see a blinking yellow light on 71 by Opie's BBQ and Spicewood General Store. Continue about 4 miles past that light and look for a yellow and blue billboard advertising Double Horn Creek. Right past the billboard, turn right on Vista View Trail and we are at 619 and the only house with a split cedar rail fence and pond. Call (512)[masked] if you get lost.
Again, it is REQUIRED that you RSVP since we will not be in a public park. Please check the website often for any updates, especially if it looks like it may rain and we have to cancel and reschedule. You never know about this Texas weather. Please contact us with any questions. Previous Potluck Meetups have always provided for an afternoon of great food and great fun, and I'm sure this will be no exception.
