Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.

Slaughterhouse-Five, or The Children's Crusade: A Duty-Dance with Death is a 1969 novel by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. about the experiences and journeys through time of a soldier named Billy Pilgrim. He does not like wars and is captured by the Germans during the Battle of the Bulge. The Germans put Billy and his fellow prisoners in a disused slaughterhouse in Dresden. The firebombing of Dresden is a central event in the novel.

The reviews of Slaughterhouse-Five have been largely positive and in its publication year, Slaughterhouse-Five was nominated for a best-novel Nebula Award & for a best-novel Hugo Award, 1970. It also appeared in Time magazine's list of the 100 best English-language novels written since 1923.

This reminded me why I hate Vonnegut. So it goes.

Thought I should read at least one of his books. Look forward to the discussion, particularly after last month with Faulkner's "Sound and Fury."

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
