It's the perfect season for a day trip (RT from San Francisco) to the Sonoma Coast and Russian River Valley!
The picturesque drive north over the Golden Gate Bride and through the verdant countryside of Petaluma ends at our first stop - Bodega Head. We'll hike along the bluffs with stunning ocean views. It's an easy hike, mostly flat with one short uphill section.
Our next stop will be Armstrong Redwoods state park where we'll spend some time in the shade of the towering trees. The trails here should be lush with vegetation this time of year, and the hike ranges from easy to moderate, with some changes in elevation.
After all of this nature and exercise, we go to Guerneville for some town time! Go on a culinary adventure, check out a boutique, indulge at the brew pub, or have a latte and do some people watching.
Since we're in wine country, we'll complete our trip by sampling a little "vino" before we roll back into San Francisco.
Don't forget to bring: your favorite shoes to walk/hike in, sunscreen, hat, water bottle. Bring a friend or meet some new ones here! BYO lunch or shop at Bodega for a picnic.
Call [masked] ext 1 to reserve a spot. The cost is $40, (which covers fuel, transportation, driver and entrance fees.)
