Plant a School Garden

Volunteers Wanted!

Together with The Artisan Food Guild, the Green Kitchen will facilitate the planting of a wonderful school garden project at a local charter school in South Phoenix (K-8) which serves about 340 students.

This Wednesday, I am meeting with a group of mothers to match their "wish list" with our master gardeners recommendations. Soon afterward, we  will order the soil and announce a planting-day date which will be announced on this site.

If you would like to help us, please let me know. Also, we could use some extra containers - big pots that are hard to pick up once filled with dirt and plants. We have 13 raised beds, but something to add for flowers would significantly beautify the courtyard area. No throwaways please......just great stuff that you don't need or want anymore. This is a great project to show 340 families that we care....and, a great time of year to do it....Thanksgiving!

Great opportunity to help a group of parents begin to grow food for their children at the school they attend.

Yes, I'd love to help. And I have a seed company and we can donate some seed!

Also, I can get really good soil for wholesale. We could get cheap soil for bottom, and then the good soil for top 3 inches. Thoughts?

The attendee numbers include both Green Living and The Artisan Food Guild groups. Come meet some new friends and see some old ones at our co-hosted events.
