Learning to Cooperate

Arizona has very few cooperatives - organizations owned by the community. Yes, we have great credit unions - like MariSol Federal Credit Union - which are owned by their members. But, we could use a lot more multistakeholder ownership cooperative kitchens and stores and cafes and bookstores and more!

This is an area of economic development that I studied as part of my graduate work and via Kent State - University of Ohio national conferences. Beginning on Sunday, December 16th, I will begin hosting a series of discussions on cooperatives and how they can benefit both the local food scene and our economy.

I realize that this venue is a bit North of town, but it is also my home and the most practical space for me to hold these events. For those of you who attend, you will enjoy some great food and beverages!

I look forward to seeing you there!

Thank you,

Roy Allen

The attendee numbers include both Green Living and The Artisan Food Guild groups. Come meet some new friends and see some old ones at our co-hosted events.
