Web Project Management

  • Jan 27, 2014 · 5:45 PM

Let's talk about lessons learned in managing Web projects. There are commonalities in managing any type of project, but Web projects come with their own challenges. Also, there are differences between managing projects from within an organization and as an outside consultant.

The forecast for tonight is cold and windy, but there is only a small chance of more snow falling ->

Therefore, we are going to carry on in the face of adversity, since we expect most of the roads to be cleaned up by the time we start tonight. The roads might not be in good shape for everybody, so if you are going to be unable to attend please update your RSVP appropriately, so we can determine how much hot hot pizza to buy.

Those of you in outlying areas where the roads are unsafe, we will be recording this meetup to the best of our ability. We may even try to livestream it. We will not, however, be mailing you any pieces of pizza!

Please do not drive if you feel unsafe!

Good general knowledge on project management, applicable to not only web projects.

I was really looking forward to this topic, but I'm not going to risk the drive from Zeeland. It'd be great if slides/notes were posted after the meetup.

New to the group and looking to connect with fellow developers. How long are the meetings for?

Jay, the presentations start around 6 and we are usually wrapped up by 7:30. There is usually a contingent that grabs drinks afterward.

I don't think it is supposed to snow the rest of the day, so hopefully the roads are cleared up by 6. It is going to be pretty darn cold though!

Good question @Kim. Let us know if this will be pushed back at all due to weather.

Are you contemplating postponing this for a week?
