Hello and welcome.
We are a group of adventurous and sociable adults, and are open to most activities, ranging from simple walks, pub events and dinners to sky diving, tree top trekking, horse-back riding, white water rafting, scuba diving, paintball, snowboarding, golf, etc. (see photos of our past events here: http://www.meetup.com/gta-adventures/photos/). Don't worry if you haven't done any of these activities before - all are welcome.
Here are some IMPORTANT facts about us:
We put safety first. Although we engage in activities that can seem risky, we do so in a manner that minimizes risk. We ask that you respect the efforts of, and cooperate with the event organizers.
We are fun and laid-back. If you are looking for a hard-core group of adrenaline junkies, we may not fit your bill. However, we do try new and interesting things, and, once we get to know you, you may be invited to other events not listed on the meetup site.
We are friendly and sometimes members can be shy, don't be afraid to start by saying hello. Do not at any time feel hesitant to approach any of the organizers with any question, to suggest an event or simply to say Hi!! Some lasting friendships have evolved from our meetups.
We are non-profit, and there are no annual or monthly membership fees. However, there are free as well as paid events, and, sometimes for the paid events, we may add a dollar or two to the fees, which helps us to pay our own costs. PayPal fees are always added to online payments to cover their charges. For events that require payment, it is often possible to pay in person in cash or by e-transfer (you will be given instructions for this).
As a group, we can negotiate group-rates, and the savings are passed on to members. The organizers have been doing certain activities for a while, and have forged good relationships with some of the companies, and can negotiate genuine deals.
Membership requires the following:
1. PLEASE use your first name only as your profile name.
2. PLEASE post a CURRENT picture of YOURSELF within your profile. It doesn't have to be your main photo but members need to be able to recognize you at events. Providing a profile picture allows ALL members to find each other at events and to feel safe.
3. Please answer at least one of the questions asked when you sign up, we do read them and if left unanswered makes us reject applications, which we do not like doing.
4. Please acknowledge that you have read our group's terms and conditions by saying 'OK' when you sign up.
