This is our monthly meetup and we'll be chatting about our latest read "Blackout" by Robison Wells.
"Laura and Alec are highly trained teenage terrorists. Jack and Aubrey are small-town high school students. There was no reason for their paths to ever cross.
But now a mysterious virus is spreading throughout America, infecting teenagers with impossible superpowers—and all teens are being rounded up, dragged to government testing facilities, and drafted into the army to fight terrorism. Suddenly, Jack, Laura, Aubrey, and Alec find their lives intertwined in a complex web of deception, loyalty, and catastrophic danger—where one wrong choice could trigger an explosion that ends it all."
We'll also decide what to read for March, so come armed with suggestions for the next book!
If you are new to the group or just not managed to come out for a coffee, we'd love to meet you. It's a lighthearted informal group and last weekend we had a few first-timers, it was really good fun.
Of all the books we've discussed, some we liked, some we did not, and we're not afraid to give our own opinions (especially if they are not shared by the rest of the group!)
*** NEW FOR 2014 ***
Our meetup day has changed to SUNDAY. That's the last Sunday of every month, 1pm at the Williams coffee pub near the Metro at Stone/Edinburgh in Guelph. See you there!
