Introduction to Meditation

Lama Yeshe once said "to liberate yourself, you must know yourself". We will discuss the purpose and benefits of meditation, investigate the nature of the mind, and practice a variety of different meditation techniques. In addition, we will explore topics such as how to control our anger, attachment and other negative emotions. The class will cover how to meditate on love and compassion so that we can first befriend ourselves and then improve our relations with those around us.

Each session will consist of guided and silent meditations, a teaching, and group discussion.

All are welcome to attend, no previous meditation experience is required.
