March Open-Mike

Hi fellow guitarists !

This is our monthly open-mike: the third Wednesday of each month at the Nightingale Lounge. Also at the Nightingale Lounge will be the Artist Showcase on the 25th of March- so come out and enjoy!

This event- we are going to spotlight the socializing and networking aspect of the group. The April open-mike will feature guitar duos, and so the first 45 mins of this event we will have time to meet new guitarists and singers to play with!!

Here is a snapshot of the event:

6:45PM: Emily and Felipe will be at the Nightingale Lounge to have a drink! come say "hi"
7:00PM: Open playing time to socialize and network with other musicians
7:45PM: Open-mike starts

There will be a sign-up sheet at the bar starting at 7PM with open times for the open-mike. Please sign-up for the time you'd like to play. The cookie tin next to the sign-up sheet is for the $2 cover for the meetup. This money is directly recycled back into the group.

Last month's event was awesome! The performances were quality, and I was grateful to everyone who brought friends, lovers, family, countrymen ;-p... thanks again.

Come enjoy a night with the guitar and support our group by coming out, and bring your friends and family. YOU ARE IN NO WAY OBLIGATED TO PLAY! Some people will come to find inspiration for their practice, or to have a drink with other guitarists... and that's excellent too.

As always, IF YOU APOLOGIZE BEFORE YOU PLAY YOUR PIECE, YOU OWE ME A DRINK OF MY CHOICE. In other words, no apologizing on stage. So far so good, but we had a few close calls...

Thanks for being a part of our group! It's great to see that we're always growing, and getting a little better at each event.

I enjoyed the event very much. Thanks Amy for having David and I and our friends attend this wonderful event. Everyone did very well and it was nice to meet some of the members.

Is this just for classical guitarists? What type of music is generally played?

Hi Bob- this is actually the perfect place to post your question! There is usually a fair amount of parking on that block. Otherwise, there tends to be parking further east too. This is actually a decent part of the city to find a spot in. Hope this helps!

This may be the wrong place for this question, but I was wondering if anyone cab tell me at [masked] if you can usually find parking nearby.
