Hello there! I've been playing guitar for some time now. Look forward to sharing some music and making new friends. Peace.
The overall vibe was welcoming, and very supportive of all the participants. There was no competition or show offs, and the players had a wide range of skills from beginners to advanced. It’s definitely a good crowd with an established sense of community, but open to new comers. The main organizer, Emily, is a very talented young woman with a beautiful voice and a big heart. The crowd seems to be mostly middle age, although there were also younger people. The music was mostly songwriter oriented and lacked some diversity: no jazz, blues, classical, finger picking, R&B, bosa nova, or experimental, not even rock and roll. But what the group lacks in diversity, it makes up in being supportive of all. Keep in mind that it was my first time, and I was there for only 2 hours. Looking at their photos of other events, it seems that the group might be much more diverse. If you are looking for a supportive environment where to hone your skills as a performer, this seems to be the place.
