Carina's hikes are great. I struggled similar to her first hike at Lucien. . . Thx to my 40 lb tag along:)

Also, this was the first hike where I was almost brained by an out of control turtle rolling down the hill. I sure hope it's the last! Usually I only see chipmunks on my hikes...

A huge thank you to this great group of people who joined me for a wet hike through the jungle. This was the best paced group I've led and I'm really impressed with everyone who braved the bugs and humidity, not to mention HILLS! I'll let you know when t-shirts are available. (ha ha ha) A special thanks to Larry for sweeping! P.S. Jason and I jumped right in the pool (75F) when we got home and it felt incredibly refreshing after the initial shock wore off...

Good hike with challenging hills. A little too muddy in spots, but I was aware that it would be.

Great hike, fantastic, supportive team. After the rain the forest was so lush, green and fragrant :) . Wonderful experience. Good workout! Great pace, Carina! We all survived!

Is it still a 'go' if it's raining?

I will leave the backpack at home so as to be nimble, quick and fleet-of-foot. LOL!

Jason and I scouted on Saturday (18May13). The planned route is just over 5 miles and has a boatload of hills (of course). We'll be covering most of the named trails, including some sections we didn't cover during my snowy February hike. The trails are in great shape: hard-packed and very little mud. There are ruts, roots, and a downed tree or two, so be sure your footwear has adequate ankle support. Also, now that it's actually spring, the foliage is creeping onto the trails. If you choose to wear shorts, be prepared to get tickled if not scratched, by leaves, branches, brambles, etc. We'll be out of town this weekend, so no more scouting before the hike. See you there!

This will be a strenuous hike with many hills and steady inclines. Please know your hiking abilities and whether this hike is suited for you. I'd like to do most of the named trails in the park, especially since I had to skip one or two on the February hike due to excessive snow. We'll be keeping up as brisk a pace as possible and yes, running up hills will be allowed! If you're looking for a leisurely, non-hilly hike... this isn't it! I won't have a ton of time for scouting, but it's probably safe to assume the trails may be muddy.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
