I would like to thank everyone who came out for the hike. It was a great day and a nice hike even though we had to alter the route due to Ellison being closed.
A special thanks to Jean and Pat for bringing that to my attention.
    Bob for sweeping.
Kathy for seeing that emails were sent out to notify people of the change.
And to Derek who parked at Ellison to redirect people to the new meeting place.
We ended up doing 3.80 miles

When I backed out to leave, a car was parked close behind me and I knew I was close to it. After arriving home, I have a slight scrape on the left rear bumper of my car, thus someone may have a scrape on their right front bumper. If so, please call me at[masked] and I'll make it right. My apologies if that happened, I didn't feel a bump or hear a noise so thought I had cleared.

PLEASE NOTE CHANGE IN MEETING LOCATION.

DUE TO THE PARK BEING CLOSED WE WIL MEET AND USE THE LOT LOCATED AT 1008 PENFIELD ROAD. THIS IS A SOUTHERN ELLISON PARK PARKING LOT WHERE WE HAVE MET BEFORE. BUT LOCATED FAR FROM THE FLOODED AREA.
PLEASE LET ANYONE KNOW THAT DOES NOT USE THE INTERNET.
THE TIME IS STILL THE SAME.
PLEASE CALL ME IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.
HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL THERE.

    DICK

I called the parks dept and confirmed that is closed today. (Friday) As they have no business hours on Sat. We have to rely on the local news tomorrow. I was also told the large parking lot on Blossom would be closed Sat if the park remains closed.
Please check this site and your email later tonight for updates.
THE HIKE WILL GO ON. ONCE AGIAN CHECK HERE FOR UPDATES AND MAYBE A NEW LOCATION TO MEET.

(13WHAM) Penfield, N.Y. – Ellison Park is officially closed Friday and Saturday. Read more: http://www.wham1180.com/pages/localnews.html?feed=122742&article=11391459#ixzz2WDF4pKKS
Monroe Co. Parks Dept. Director Larry Staub said the water will drain on its own and then crews will have to pick up debris and dead fish. He hopes to have the park fully open by early next week. Staub said this ranks as one of the worst flooding cases in the park because it's rare to have both sides of the park flooded like it is, but it has been worse. Blossom Road has flooded in the past which is not the case today. People who rented pavilions and shelters for graduation parties and Father's Day have been issued refund

I scouted most of the hike today. Trails are in good shape. I know we are getting some rain Thursday so there might be a few muddy spots. But I think we can avoid them for the most part. This is a fairly level hike with just a couple of small hills and a couple gradual incline and declines. There will be rest rooms near the beginning of the hike and at the end while we are in Ellison. We will be taking a few minutes in Corbetts to view the 1800s railroad bridge/tunnel with falls. And also the Postcard Falls.

I just heard on WHAM that the park was going to be closed due to rain. Anyone else hear that?

Yes. WHAM said Thursday's rain has caused park officials to close parts of Ellison Park in Brighton Friday.

Right now, there is up to three feet of water around parts of the park valley. Park roads at the bottom entrance of Ellison, along Blossom Road are closed. The dog park is also flooded.
