Thanks for the cool hike, Chauncy/Dave/temporary sweep who filled in for Dave while he brought people back (sorry, didn't catch his name). See you all out on the trails!

Bristol mountain Nordic Ski Center is a good option on a cold day.

Carina - I thought you ordered the cooler weather. Anyway, 1st and last two mile mostly single path dirt. Next short section (~ 1/4 mile) is paved road. Then more single track followed maybe by another ~ 1/4 mile paved. Everything west of Rte 250 is single track dirt. So depending on the choices I make Sunday, the walk will be 7 - 10 miles with about 1 mile along paved roads with the shorter distance and only about 1/2 mile long paved roads with the longer distance. Of course there are more variation - those listed are the extremes.

Thanks for the run-down! I sure didn't wish for more cold weather... I'm ready to be done with winter!

Hey Chauncy! I'm not familiar with these trails. Are they mostly dirt/gravel/etc. or are there a lot of paved sections? I'm trying to decide whether or not to wear my studded boots, which are helpful on ice, but not as comfortable on asphalt/concrete. Also, couldn't you have requested some warmer weather? ;)

checked out the Woodcliff end of our hike yesterday and there was still a bit icy conditions on the 1.5 mile orange trail loop that I had planned to take so will probably only do this section on way back when I see where we are time wise. Other than that - it looks like it will be below freezing so mud will not be a problem.

I am planning on going to the Distillery or Thirsty Turtle after the hike for lunch. We will choose as a group on Sunday.

I'm so disappointed I'm going to miss this awesome hike :(((

Should we call ahead to Woodcliff and get coffee to go? :)

Plan on 3+ hours for this hike as my goal is to get everyone to Woodcliff and back. This is more like 9 miles if I follow the Orange Trail on the east side of Rte 250. Of course if there is 3 feet of snow on the ground - well let's just say we would not make it that far or it would take all day. ;-)
