Had a great time! I wish it could have been all wood trails but I understand to get the 7 miles we had to do some road. Still it was a great hike.. VERY brisk pace which is what I was looking for! Great leader!

Thank you for the swift hike. It left me time to cut my lawn ;-).

I would love to go on one of these strenuous hikes, but it's during church. My church doesn't offer Saturday services. Is it possible to offer the hikes later so that those of us that want to go to church can make the hikes?? Thanks.

Yuki, GVHC does scheduling in 4-month blocks, with a scheduling meeting 1-2 months prior to each cycle. Hike leaders are all volunteers and all are invited to lead hikes. Once the schedule for a cycle is set, hard copies are distributed to GVHC members and each hike is posted on the GVHG meetup group about a month in advance. So there aren't many changes to scheduled hikes unless a hike leader is unable to lead a scheduled hike (in which case another volunteer steps in to lead). I hope some strenuous hikes fit into your schedule soon. GVHC is a great group and there are a large variety of hikes offered!

Will do - sorry I missed yours last week - worked on tax files that I had put on extension. I did get five miles in at my treadmill desk while working on them.

Hopefully the weather will cooperate and be sunny which is the current forecast. The early spring wild flowers are out - Hepatica, Spring Beauty, Tooth-wort, Blue Cohosh, Trilium, etc. Keep your eyes open for these and others as we hike on Sunday. Looks like there may be rain between now and Sunday so there will be a few muddy spots as things have yet to dry out with the late spring.

I really wanted to do this hike, but my sisters scheduled Mother's Day activities such that we can't make it. One of these days I'll do a Chauncy hike... Have a great time!

Yuki - I have a couple scheduled for the afternoon in the next four month block of hikes. Figured it would give us an opportunity to catch dinner afterwards if some of the group was so inclined.
