Thank you everyone for coming out despite the downpour at our start! You folks are serious hikers! And just about a mile into, Mother nature gave us a beautiful morning. All the rain gear was shed and stowed away. Nice time after at Tim Hortons. Thanks Derek for sweeping and Joe for the great pictures, as always. And Barb for keeping track of my poncho.

The trails were in good shape as of today. We will see what the weather brings... So be prepared. A good hiking shoe or boot is recommended. Walking stick or polls can be put to good use on some of the trails here.

I grew up overlooking these woods and this park was my back yard. Many a day was spent exploring this area. Looking forward to this one!

Coming from Leroy, taking 490 east to culver rd.from there does anyone have the directions to the park, thanks

Terrence. You can either take Culver or you can take 590 N, Both from 490. Then you need to head North until you reach Empire Blvd. Turn right from either and head East. From Culver you will head down a gentle hill. There will be a light or two. You will go under 590. Your next light will be Winton. Just past Winton the road slopes again Be prepared to turn left onto Orchard Park Blvd. as it is only a few feet past Winton. You should see a brick retaining wall on one corner. Following Orchard Park you will encounter a steep curving hill that will bring you to the water. (ignore the parking lot on the left) Go along the water and the road will make another sharp left. We will meet just past the fish and game club on the right. The county park map link above will show you that area.
