In deep snow you would want a ski pole or something to prevent the pole from going to deep in the snow. I don't think you will need it this weekend but if you went to the mts.

Interested in meeting people from the community that enjoy hiking. Just finished my 46 high peaks.

Susan, Just adding my 2 cents but I've done Dryer before and one should be in shape for this hike. Someone said this and Lincoln Park are the two most challenging. Only you know your physical condition, but for a 6 - 7 mile strenuous hike, a person should feel comfortable doing 6 - 7 miles on flat land in 3 hrs. The hike leader should weigh in on how much time is being planned for this hike, but I am planning on hiking from 12:00 to 3:30 pm. I'd be interested to hear from others with experience on Dryer Rd.

You will know that you have been on a hike at the end of the day. Good work out.
