What a awesome hike for my first experience snowshoeing, and what a great workout. It was gorgeous out there with the snow laced trees. Thanks Gary!!!

Thanks to all who hiked today. It wasn't easy, but we made it. Thank you to all who did trail breaking and to Derek and Kathy for taking turns sweeping. Thanks to Jen for the mileage and tracking. See you all again soon.

Canceling, roads are still pretty rough, and 6 miles with snow shoes might be too tough for this old gal! Did 4 miles yesterday!

Would've liked to attended but will be in Rochester that night and doing both would require 4 hours of back & forth driving for me to the area in one day.

If anyone has snow shoes, maybe a couple people could wear them and be in the lead ahead of everyone else.

Stephen, I have often worn work boots on winter hikes in past years. You should be fine.

Howdy. I'm a mid-20's guy who's gone hiking with Scouts but not often since, and I don't own hiking poles, but I could rummage up a stick. Technically, my boots are more "work boots" than "hiking boots", but because I work agriculture, it often feels like the same thing. How well-fitted do you reckon that all is for this trail?

I scouted this hike today Feb 2nd. I strongly suggest using stabil-icers, micro spikes or yak traks on your boots. I also suggest hiking poles. You may not need the poles for the whole hike, but they will come in handy on several areas where there is frozen sections of the trails. We will be crossing Spring Creek at one point on the hike. Today the creek was very high and I couldn't cross where I normally cross. I had to make a makeshift bridge with downed pieces of trees. Should not be a problem. I will help everyone across. Hiking poles will help with the crossing of Spring Creek. See all of you there.

I will be scouting this on Sat. Feb 2. I will post results of the scouting shortly there after.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
