Craft Workshop: Sacred Smudge Fan

  • May 1, 2013 · 7:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Smudging is the sacred ritual of burning special herbs, such as sage, sweet grass, cedar and so on to create a cleansing smoke bath to help purify a person's energy, a home, a healing space, a object. Also, smudging is often used as a ceremonial tool at the beginning of a spiritual gathering to create a scared circle.

In this workshop you can expect to learn the following:

-How to perform a smudging ceremony to spiritually cleanse your home, office, yourself, and others of unwanted energies. Also, learn to cleanse crystals and other sacred items, such as divination tools.

-When and how to use varities of sages, sweet grass, and other sacred herbs.

-How to make a personalized smudge blend for yourself and others. All participants will receive a sage stick, and other samples of smudging herbs and resins as a gift (Value $10).

-How to create a personalized smudge fan made from natural feathers. You are welcomed to bring your own feathers, beads, and crystals to further personalize your smudge fan. However,  all material required to create your sacred smudge fan is included in the price of the workshop.

This picture is of David in the process of creating his own unqie smudge fan at the Yule Craft Workshop (December 2012) which I co-lead with Della.

Here is your opportunity to create your own scared smudge fan and also learn more about smudging.

Registerator before April 25 for $25 and after for $30 (all materials included). The workshop is limited to 7 participants. Tea & a light snack will be provided. You will also get to take home a sage stick and other samples of smudging herbs and resins as a gift.
