We are highly selective with admitting new members (~20% admit rate), so fully completed profile questions will get priority. What is your full name and LinkedIn profile URL?

Brian Becker. I have a B.S. in Biology and a MBA. Business school piqued my interest in Behavioral and Organizational Psychology. It helped me understand the "science of people". As a result, I've found myself often running miniature experiments at work and with friends trying to influence positive behavior. I also am a person that will sometimes struggle with doing the things I should do and not doing the things I shouldn't. Therefore, I'm highly interested in experiments that will increase my motivation and focus in areas of my life such as health and wellness, work productivity, and creating good habits. This group seems to be an excellent and structured opportunity to accelerate better and lasting personal and professional behaviors.

What is the nature of your interest in designing experiences for personal habit development?

No answer yet

Can you share a 5-minute personal story about a successful habit practice that's lasted longer than 100 days? If so, please give us just a quick synopsis!

In a previous laboratory position, I had the opportunity to change the layout of the lab in order to encourage employees to always wear proper protective equipment and keep the area audit ready. Most employees didn't even realize that their behavior had changed over the course of the months. I too learned that the changes I initiated in my work environment improved my behaviors making my daily tasks more automatic. For example, I could walk through the lab on any given day and know what supplies we needed to order. No checklist was needed because I was visually triggered whenever something seemed out of place. Hope that example is clear enough.

Which (if any) relevant guest speaker(s) could you contact to speak at a future meetup with whom you already have a personal relationship?

I have access to a NLP trainer in the LA area he's not famous, but is Richard Bandler trained. I guess this would be more about influence but it's something to think about. Additionally, I have a few friends in the Health and Fitness world that could speak about ways to stick to a work out and nutrition plan.

Which specific host locations (if any) could you contact to host/sponsor a future meetup?

Being new to the area, this one would be more difficult. I'm definitely open to helping find venues if you need a volunteer.

A new San Francisco resident working in healthcare marketing. I'm exploring volunteer opportunities and interesting groups of forward thinkers that the Bay Area has to offer.

What Brian B. is saying about this Meetup Group

I really liked the group and feel that there's a lot of intelligent and thoughtful members. I'll definitely attend another event.
